hello,

I'm new to the fine art of making dvds, i have some home vids that are in avi format and have tried to make them into a dvd with diko.  after 10 dvds and 30+ hours im convinced I need help.

the problem:

i bought diko gold, the new version 2.32 and installed the file as the email instructed.  I then went to work on my avi, added it to the windo to convert, made my menu, and check the make image to burn later.  after 2 hrs it finished, i opened the file to find 8 or so objects totalling 8gigs, i not knowing any thing assumed this was what i  needed, so i opened imgburn and tried to load it, the only thing it would load was a 900kb iso called "disk", i hit burn and found a wasted dvd in my drive Sad

2nd-4th attempts

added avi, made menu using dvd styler, told it to burn using imgburn and not to make image.  all i found on dvd was the menu files but no menu or avi Sad

5th-8th

added avi, made menu using diko, told it to burn using imgburn and make image... it put files in the temp folder and didnt burn... the files in temp folder were not usable with imgburn and the dvds had 1 file on them called dvd but no video Sad

9th and 10th

added avi, no menu, make image and burn using img burn, 2 hr wait for same files in temp folder and nothing added to dvds Sad

some one please tell me what i am have not done right or how stupid i am for missing a step ; ;

thanks Smiley

Hi ladyrukia,

Please PM me with the name you used to register DIKO GOLD so I can update your forum status, ok? Wink
Let's check what's happening. I think we should start from the no menu conversion because it's the simplest one. Could you post the contents of the file log.txt, which you can find inside the working folder (defaults to c:\program files\DIKO\TEMP) and also a screenshot of the files left in this same folder?

hello,

sorry i didnt get back to you sooner, had alot of work this week.

i dont have a screen capture device so i cant post a pick of the files in temp but ill list and ill attatch the log ^^
thank you so much for helping,  btw the problem has changed a little, i can now make a dvd that works but only with out a menu. adding a menu takes me back to getting a 900kb disc iso and a almost empty author file Sad

these files are in the folder:
author folder
list.lst
movie0.srt.style
movies (configuration settings)
movie0 avs file
dvd xml
log text
disc (packed image)
0-family.mpeg
temp0a ac3 file
extract0a wave sound
0-family.mpv
0-family video file

the author file has these in it:
menu1-0.mpg_bg
menu1-0.mpg_buttons.png
menu1-0.mpg_highlight.pgn
menu1-0.mpg_select
menu1-0.mpg_spumux

and since i dont know how to attach the log im just going to copy it here hope thats ok.

Hi ladyrukia,

Some people have reported issues with the latest DVDStyler compile for DIKO 2.32. Have you tried with DIKO Menu Creator? I'll post later a download link for a previous DVDStyler compile so you can test and we can check if it fixes the issue.
