I just bought RB pro today and used it with AQE for the first time. It worked fine, but it only did 2 passes. How do I set it for 3 or 4? Also, you say to add CCEAQM=1 to the rebuilder.ini. Where is rebuilder.ini and how do I add it? Thanks Sorry for the newb questions, but I'm a newb I guess.

AQE is a 'smart' encoder: it uses the number of passes enough to reach a desired file size with maximum quality; in this way, you can to set 4 passes up that if it 'think' that 2 passes is enough, it will stop the encoding at end of second pass.
How do you set AQE up on your RB-PRO? What's version are you using?

I am using v 0.32.1.0, I downloaded the GUI version but I get a "failure to initialize" message. As far as setup goes, I have it in my program files and RB pro "pointing" to it in the CCE SP spot. I'm using the default settings until I learn better (enable QMATOpt AQM mode). Any advice is appreciated. Where do I add the CCEAQM=1? The only place I find settings is in notepad with this command line version.

I guess I spoke too soon when I said that my first try with AQE (non GUI version) was fine because the processed files played on my computer, however, when I went to burn them to DVD-5, the file was too big - 4.74g, since it is all automatic, I didn't see where I can set it to 4.3 (standard DVD-5). What did I do wrong.

@ricoman
You can to use DVD-Shrinking for shrink it to DVD5 size cause of being small the oversize, DVD-Shrink will shrink it without loose of quality. With regard on my previous question, I was asking what is the DVD-RB PRO version that you're using right now.

v1.09.3, just got it yesterday, had been using the freeware previously. I used CloneDVD to get it down to size, but was wondering how to do it with RBpro/AQE, that has to be better that processing twice.

With this version you don't need to substitute CCE SP to AQE cause of it alread has full support to AQE; you just have to enable it at rebuilder.ini, section [PATH] and there put
Quote
AutoQMatEnc=C:\Arquivos de programas\AutoQMatEnc\AutoQMatEnc.exe
(this is for my system which is PT_BR; for your one you've to localize AutoQMatEnc.exe in the same way).
With regard on oversize, I've to say to not change some default settings like
Quote
TargetSectors
and I hope that everything goes well.
Ah, and I would suggest the use of new AQE beta (0.33 b2) or the previous one (0.33 b4). In order to install either one or other you must first download AQE 0.33 b3 (cause of some new llibraries bundles with this package) and so download AQE 0.33 b4 or 0.33 b5 and so upated the AQE folder installation.
See ya,

About adding CCEAQM=1 to rebuilder.ini. How is this done? Where do I find the .ini file, is this in notebook? If so, does it matter where I place the line? Thanks.

If you have the new DVD-Rebuilder you dont need to add CCEAQM=1 to the ini yoou need to add a path to AQE as shown here
You can turn on Qmatop in your settings
Your ini file can be found in C:\Program Files\DVD-RB PRO your ini file looks like this
and yes it can be opened with notepad

I also would like to add that you can simply use QME to enable AutoMatQuEnc with the latest freeware version of DVD-RB
You can get it here:
http://www.vmesquita.com/forum/index.php?topic=6443.0
You also need my "version wrapper" FakeCCE for this which can be downloaded here:
http://de.geocities.com/dark_soul_71/FakeCCE.zip
@BR7: Sry, two OT questions
1) Did you test the latest version of QuEnc^n which I sent you by e-mail this week ? I curious on result with two QuEnc instances on your system.
2) Would you mind to post a screenshot of the AQE Advanced (Expert) Settings ? I´m currious what jdobbs supports...TIA
@danpos: Sry, OT too...AQE_LAN-RB is currently on hold. The football (that´s soccer for all of our US-based friends) championship and the good weather require my full attention...ROLF...
Take care friends and have a nice weekend !

BR7: Thanks, seems I had it right, oddly that configuration setting file or icon does not show the .ini extension so I wasn't sure it was the correct one. Thanks again.

Hi, mate !! Long time since our last talking ...
Don't worry, I'm on "Fifa World Cup" rhythm as well and also I'd some weird crashes with my new 80 GB PATA HDD, so I'm still setting it up in slow way ...
If I'm remembered, you sent to me a LAN_AQE-RB version whence you've a success using it, so I will try it out soon.
BTW, what about a final match between Brasil x Deutschland, repeating the last one
Take care too,

Your Welcome
If you want windows to show extensions do this
1.On your desktop, open My Computer.
2.Select the Tools menu, & then select Folder Options
3.In the Folder Options windows, click on the View tab.
4.Uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types
5. Click OK to close the Folder Options window.Close the My Computer window.Then you should be good to go and you should be able to see .ini .exe and so on
