MPEG1=0 means MPEG2
MPEG1=1 means MPEG1
cbr_rate : Bitrate for MPEG1/CBR encoding.

Hi Sapstar, what framerate_rate_idx does AQE expect to see for a file with a framerate of 29.971?

29.971 ?!?! It doesn't exist or it's not supported at all....AQE supports the same frame rate than CCE SP. And I would be surprised than any encoder encodes in 29.971 ?!

No pb...I just discovered myself that the real limitations on Quantization matrices are :
- [1..255] values
And that's it....in practice, the intra matrix shoudnt go under 8 as the first Q value but that's it....
So you see...everybody can learn something everyday !!!

Hi Sapstar, what does AQE do if the input file is 29.97 fps as it's not in your framerate_rate_idx list.
Also is 29.976 fps pulled down at all? Sorry for being a pain

29.976 = 29.97, the common "name" for it, is 29.97 but in reality it's 29.976. And no it's not pulldown you have to use an external tool to do it!

qmat : Custom Quantization Matrix,
taken into account even in QMatOp mode on.
Hi, me again
. SAPSTAR what is recommend when qmatop is enabled?
1) qmat is left blank
2) custom matrix
Bbasically which would produce better results when qmatop is enabled?

My advice is :
qmat_idx=0
and no qmat parameter

As promised :
aspect_ratio : 0:221.0/100.0, 1:1/1, 2:4/3, 3:16/9
Gooooood....why didnt I look at this post earlier, anyways, SAPSTAR, DVD-RB doesnt support 2.21:1 AR on its own, what if I manually change this parameter in the ECL in 3-click mode (ofcourse the source should also be in 2.21:1 AR).
Will it work, since the encoding is done by AutoQmat, but on the other hand the final authoring of DVD is done by RB and might not set the Video AR flag eventually.
Any advise on this?
?

Part of CCE Simple Settings (Animation/CG/Natural) taken into account : Recomended for Anime (Aniamtion) and old movies (Natural)
I know about h_filter, but what params in the ecl refering to "Animation/CG/Natural" does AQE use?

SAPSTAR just for your information I found that the framerate index is not the same between AQE and CCE...
Quote from: SAPSTAR on 09 de October de 2005, 12:09
framerate_rate_idx :Framerate index 0:23.976,1:24.0,2:25.0,3:29.976,4:30.0,5:50.0,6:59.94,7:60.0
CCE 2.67 framerate_rate_idx:
1:23.976,2:24,3:25,4:29.97,4:30
Could you please clarify

No in fact that's the info here in the thread which is wrong, add 1 to each setting...my fault I did a bad copy/paste =>
framerate_rate_idx :Framerate index 1:23.976, 2:24.0, 3:25.0, 4:29.976, 5:30.0, 6:50.0, 7:59.94, 8:60.0
Which are exactly the CCE 2.67 values....
