I thought I would add this guide as suggested by Fingerbob in this thread Mix n Match which can be found >>>here<<<

If you have authored a DVD and later after authoring found out that the Audio is messed up or indeed the Video is messed up then here is a guide that may be of some use to you.

I had a problem once where I had an error in my video file so I needed to demux the VOBs to their .mpv and .ac3 elemetary streams.

I seached the web for a freeware demuxer and after a little while I found out I had the perfect tool right under my nose all the time!;D Nic's ReJig.

What to do when you have a good video stream but a mess up audio stream.

What I would do is use Nic's ReJig. If you have the IFO file for you VOBs then so much the better use this method:

If you burned the Authored Movie/s to a DVD then you should have an IFO file.

IFO Mode:

Click on the IFO Mode button, then on the ADD button. Now select your IFO file for example VTS_01_0.IFO.

1. In the Titles Window you will see PGC of movies that are on your DVD. Select the first one that you wish to demux.

2. In the streams Window you will see the Video & Audio streams listed of this particular movie.

3. By default the 0xE0 Video will be ticked. In the Video Options section select the radio button 'Demux Video'.

4. Select an Output directory and then hit 'Process'.

5. Now select the next PGC of the next movie that is on your DVD if any and do the above steps agan and so on until all the movies are done.

Now once you have all the movies .m2v files you can work on the good audio that you wanted.

Getting the Good Audio that is needed

6. Again Follow step 1.

7. This time though untick the 0xE0 Video and tick the 0x80 Audio.

8. Again make sure Demux Video is selected under Video Options.

9. Select an output directory and press 'Process'.

10. Again select the next PGC and do the above steps until all PGCs have been done.

You should now have all good Movie encoded .m2v files and good Audio .ac3 (or whatever audio type you had authored)  files.

Now for the Subtitles

Simply select your subtitle stream in the 'Streams' Window. Be sure to untick the 'Convert Subs to IFOEdit Sup format' otherwise DVD-Lab wont recognise them. Or use SubRip the choice is yours.

EDIT: DVD-Lab doesn't accept the .sub format ReJig Spits out nor  does Subtitle Workshop they both say it is a unsupported filetype.

Try VobSub Ripper, this can be found in a sub folder within the DIKO install directory, look for a folder called vsrip. This tool should be able to rip the subs nicely for you.

Simply mux these with DVD-Lab or you other favourite authoring tool.

On the ReJig front and oversizing. Use DVD Rebuilder with ReJig options, you will find that this is the best way to get a good final size. I have tested it when I once made a slightly oversized project and it worked perfect for me.

If you only have the VOBs and no IFO files then you need to do it in File Mode. I will update this guide soon to explain how to deal with this. Grin

ReJig is such an excellent and versatile tool, if when you have remuxed the above project you find that it is over sized. ReJig also is a transcoder like DVDShrink and can shrink you file down to DVD size.

What a great tool. Grin
